Lack of transmission lines is the reason behid frequent power-cut: says Goyal

Union Minister for Power, Coal and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal yesterday rotated the tables on the state government over its plea for surplus power from the Central grid affirming that Karnataka does not haveenough transmission lines to use the additional power.

“We are all set to provide power to Karnataka. There is no shortage of power at the Central grid.contract award However transmission is a limitation as Karnataka does not have necessary transmission lines,” Goyal stated reporters after chairing anassessment meeting with representatives of the state energy department here at Vidhana Soudha. To improve power supply, more substations are upgraded or set up

In Chennai many areas are undergoing frequent power cuts because of lack of substations and feeder lines.
With the power conditionenablingnoticeably, consumption has increased to a great extent.project  But substations as well as transmission lines in the city and outskirts have not been capableof taking the load. There are complaints of repeated power cuts in several areas. "There have been power cuts for every 30 minutes and it happens even in the evening. In the last few days numerous houses are not able to charge their inverters as there is no constant power supply,” said a resident. Analytics claims: Worst time for India to resume mining of Iron Ore
