In Chennai many areas are undergoing frequent power cuts because of lack of substations and feeder lines.
With the power conditionenablingnoticeably, consumption has increased to a great extent.project  But substations as well as transmission lines in the city and outskirts have not been capableof taking the load. There are complaints of repeated power cuts in several areas. "There have been power cuts for every 30 minutes and it happens even in the evening. In the last few days numerous houses are not able to charge their inverters as there is no constant power supply,” said a resident.
