Lack of transmission lines is the reason behid frequent power-cut: says Goyal

Union Minister for Power, Coal and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal yesterday rotated the tables on the state government over its plea for surplus power from the Central grid affirming that Karnataka does not haveenough transmission lines to use the additional power.

“We are all set to provide power to Karnataka. There is no shortage of power at the Central grid.contract award However transmission is a limitation as Karnataka does not have necessary transmission lines,” Goyal stated reporters after chairing anassessment meeting with representatives of the state energy department here at Vidhana Soudha.
