In the category of ‘Dealing with construction permits’, India ranks 184 of 189 countries in the annual Ease of Doing Business news Index of the World Bank in the year of 2015. The countries which are faring worse include Eritrea, Libya, Afghanistan and Syria. In Mumbai, the permission process is very cumbersome.
