Immigration Service awards $190 million contract to Background Check Company
A leading security contractor once accused for defrauding the government has received a $190 million contract award from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to facilitate administrative assistance.

According to the Wall Street Journal reports, the DHS’s U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) the agency which looks after legal immigration to the country, appointed an US Investigations other services LLC (USIS) to help perform background checks got into trouble three years back when a whistleblower claimed the company was defrauding the government in performing the assigned duties, later got sued by the Department of Justice. DEWA awards $18 million contract to improve water transmission networks
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a $17.7 million (AED 65 million) contract award that will enhance the reliability of its water networks in various regions of Dubai.

OAT consortium bags Mexican gas pipeline contract

Petroleos Mexicanos, Mexican state-owned energy giant has awarded a contract award to construct a division of the Los Ramones natural gas pipeline to the OAT consortium comprised of Brazilian engineering group Odebrecht, Mexican construction company Arendal and Italian-Argentine group Techint.

According to Pemex, the contract was awarded after a strenuous examining to assure the required technical expertise and capacity to modernize the Los Ramones Phase II North project in a time bound and appropriate manner.

Network Rail awards £20 million Paddington station roof renovation project
A Colas Rail/Morgan Sindall joint venture (JV) has been awarded a £20 million project from Network Rail to refurbish the historic roof spans one to three at Paddington station.

The contract award awarded is part of a Multi Asset Framework Agreement (MAFA), which is expected to commence at the end of July, will include steelwork strengthening and repairs to the historic wrought iron structure and decorative scrolls of roof spans one to three.

The lighting system will be modified and the polycarbonate roof lights replaced, while the span is being refurbished.

AMEC receives FEED contract for Sea Lion platform
Premier Oil, operator of the Sea Lion field in the North Falkland Basin, has officially awarded the tension leg platform (TLF) front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract award to oilfield engineering firm AMEC.

The activities on the Sea Lion project continues to advance, as well as the operational stipulation and foundation of the TLP design being decided and the award of the FEED contract, a geotechnical survey will be carried out at the Sea Lion platform during the second half of 2014. Hyundai Heavy Industries gets $1.94 billion Nasr field development project

DIRE inks $395mn Jewel of the Creek contract with HLG
Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has signed a $395 million (AED1.45bn) contract award with Dubai International Real Estate (DIRE) to facilitate Package 8 of its Jewel of the Creek mixed-use project in Port Saeed, Dubai.
