APG and Aquila Capital to invest €500 million in European hydro power plants 

Hamburg-based alternative investments manager Aquila Capital and Dutch pension fund asset manager APG Asset Management NV have signed a partnership agreement that could make them invest around €500 million ($681 million) in the acquisition and development of European hydro power assets.

APG has accredited its partner program Aquila Capital to set up an investment vehicle committed to hydropower infrastructure, which focuses to form investments in operational hydropower plants (HPPs) and formulate new projects throughout Europe. As part of the venture, APG will commit €250 million to the project and with the use of debt financing, the overall enterprise pricing of the investments is raised to amount to up to €500 million.
