At
the time of the state visit of Chinese president Mr.Xi Jinping to
Buenos Aires on July 18, China and Argentina inked a $US 2.1bn loan
agreement, which will be utilised to finance the revival of the
metre-guage Belgrano Cargas network.
The contract award agreement was signed at a
ceremony in the town of Maciel in Santa Fe province by Mr. Wang Hong,
vice-president of China Machinery and Equipment Corporation (CMEC) and
Mr. Alejandro Ramos, Argentina’s transport secretary tender, and is part of a
