USA (Safran) has been awarded a contract to facilitate Credential
Authentication Technology (E-CAT) for airports in the United States by
the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The $85 million contract award cap covers seven years and will permit TSA travel document
inspectors to examine passenger credentials at the checkpoint compared
to the existing visual inspection.
MorphoTrust E-CAT automatically scans
and checks numerous security components enclosed in a passenger’s
identification document to assure it has not been amended or is forged.
Once the E-CAT is linked to TSA’s network, this information at the same
time will be verified against the passenger boarding information from
Secure Flight, TSA’s watchlist matching system.Read complete story at http://www.tendersontime.com/blog-detail/tsa-awards-morphotrust-85-million-credential-authentication-technology-contract-281.php
