The
state Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has awarded Raytheon Co. a
$130 million contract award to develop an electronic toll collection system
that will replace tolls around the state, covering ones on the Mass.
Pike and the summer/Callahan and Ted Williams tunnels.
The setting up process of the All
Electronic Tolling System is likely to start in April 2015 and go on
through December 2015. The first stage of the project will be the
transformation of the Weston/Route 128 Interchange.
Along with a team of Massachusetts-based
companies; Raytheon will convert and reinstate all manual cash and
electronic toll collection systems with a system that will automatically
toll vehicles as they drive under a structure that features an overhead
sign. Drivers will be able to move through the toll station at highway
speeds without the need to slow down or stop.Read complete story athttp://www.tendersontime.com/blog-detail/raytheon-secures-130-million-electronic-toll-collection-system-contract-278.php
