Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB), Pakistan, has issued an Invitation for Procurement of a proposed 135 mw Taunsa hydropower project

Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB), Pakistan, has issued an Invitation for Prequalification of contractors for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of a proposed 135 mw Taunsa hydropower project at Taunsa barrage Muzaffargarh, Punjab. Youngstown firm gets tank construction contract

A.P. O’Horo Co an industrial and commercial general contractor receives a contract award to construct a one-million-gallon tank in Mahoningtown. The company was the lowest of five bidders, submitted a bid of bid of $1,884,000 for the flow equalization tank by the sewage treatment plant.
According to Richard Christofer, authority executive director, the construction is likely to commence around July 1 with most part of the work to be done by the end of this year, the bid value is estimated around $2 million. 

The authority is subjected to provide primary and secondary treatment to everything flowing through the plant, as per the consent order passed by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Trinidad and Tobago: Senate approves Procurement Bill

The Senate collectively approved the New Procurement Bill last night, by a vote of 28 for, unanimous, no abstentions, the long awaited call for the bill comes to end by approval from the Government. Opposition and Independent Senators, clears the first hurdle towards becoming legislation.

Asian procurement process gets affected by Russia-China natural gas agreement

The countries in the East Asian region of the world have invested in procurement services to assist them bring in affordable energy. Breheny gets onshore contract

The civil engineering company Breheny has been awarded a £1m contract by RWE and SSE’s 340MW Galloper offshore wind farm, to execute the onshore works.

The onshore substation at Sizewell in the east of Britain will get the preparatory ground works done as the part of the contract award. Daewoo awards Mitsubishis power generation plant in Korea
Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) has been awarded a contract award by Daewoo Engineering & Construction to supply two M501J gas turbines for the Pocheon combined cycle power plant, a gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power generation plant in South Korea. 

Daewoo Energy, a special purpose company affiliated with Daewoo E&C, will construct the gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power generation plant in Pocheon city, which is located about 45km northwest of Seoul. Under the contract, MHPS will deliver two M501J gas turbines, one steam turbine and three generators for the power plant, which is scheduled to go on stream in November 2016. FIAG offers procurement advice to fleets
Fleets have been advised to concentrate on value rather than price when it comes to vehicle procurement.

Speaking at the Fleet Industry Advisory Group's inaugural workshop, covering procurement, Ian Hill, MD of Activa Contracts, told delegates in Wolverhampton that price is often the first point in procurement conversations, but should be one of the last.

Lockheed wins F-35 procurement contract

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, a key division of Lockheed Martin Corporation, received a modification contract worth $122.1 million from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

This latest contract award entailed the procurement of initial aircraft spares for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and other international partners. Work under this contract is scheduled to complete by Dec 2016.

Development costs for the highly advanced and expensive F-35 JSF program are shared by the U.S. and its allies. As of Dec 31, 2013, the total estimated acquisition cost (the sum of development, procurement, and military construction costs) of the F-35 program was estimated at $323.5 billion. New Procurement Act to end hassles for PEs

KATHMANDU - The government has been working on a new Public Procurement Act in a bid to cut the red tape hindering public enterprises from competing with private companies with regard to purchasing products and technology.
Public enterprises like Nepal Telecom, National Trading and Nepal Food Corporation have been complaining that the complicated procedures of the existing Public Procurement Act have prevented them from making timely purchases while private companies surge ahead as they are unfettered by such rules.
In order to allow timely purchases, the proposed act has provisioned that public corporations competing with the private sector can buy whatever they need under their own Purchase Working Procedure after getting the go-ahead from the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) that keeps a watch on public procurement.
