The
first of its kind $325 million Muharraq Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project in the MENA region has been completed by Samsung Engineering
recently.
Samsung is part of a consortium
accompanied by Abu Dhabi state investor, Invest AD, and UK water firm
United Utilities which has obtained a 30-year concession to construct
and operate the plant.
The construction of the sewage treatment
plant with a 16.5km deep gravity sewer system and heating system, with a
capacity to process 100,000 tons of sewer water daily.
