KCA Deutag bags $170 million rig contract
Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção, SA awarded a US$170 million jackup contract to International drilling and engineering contractor KCA Deutag for the Ben Rinnes jackup rig in Angola.

The agreement which come with a two-year extension option, states that KCA Deutag’s offshore division will facilitate drilling and completion other services, in numerous offshore locations in Angola. Hong Kong’s MTR Co. receives £1.4 billion Crossrail project
Transport for London (TfL) has announced that Hong-Kong-based MTR Corporation has been awarded a £1.4 billion contract award to run the new Crossrail other service through London from 2018.

MRIGlobal gets $63 million for National Toxicology Program

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences awarded MRIGlobal a new $63 million, 10-year contract to deliver analytical chemistry other services for the National Toxicology Program.
The award costing $2.4 million is for the initial eight-month and is a continuation of services MRIGlobal has delivered since 1972 to the National Toxicology partner Program.

As per the contract award, MRIGlobal will facilitate chemical procurement, handling, and analytical services in toxicology studies as allotted by the National Toxicology Program. Boskalis and Van Oord bags €100M Tuas Mega Port development contract

Pemex funds $650 million in Mexican cactus co-generation plant

Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has awarded a project to construct the 530MW Cactus Co-generation power plant in Mexico to a consortium made up of U.S-based Invenergy Clean Power and Mexico's Enesa Energia and Mexichem.

Atos retains £10 million IT contract for healthcare assessments

APG and Aquila Capital to invest €500 million in European hydro power plants 

Hamburg-based alternative investments manager Aquila Capital and Dutch pension fund asset manager APG Asset Management NV have signed a partnership agreement that could make them invest around €500 million ($681 million) in the acquisition and development of European hydro power assets.

APG has accredited its partner program Aquila Capital to set up an investment vehicle committed to hydropower infrastructure, which focuses to form investments in operational hydropower plants (HPPs) and formulate new projects throughout Europe. As part of the venture, APG will commit €250 million to the project and with the use of debt financing, the overall enterprise pricing of the investments is raised to amount to up to €500 million. ABB bags $400 million Canadian order for Maritime Link power project

Sedgman receives A$64 million Solomon Hub contract

DOD awards $334 million Hawaiian solar power project

L&T Hydrocarbon bags $846 million order for Kuwait oil & gas facility

Orpic inks $80 million five technology licensing contracts
Orpic’s (Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries) $3.6 billion Liwa Plastic Project (LPP) has signed the award of five technology licensor contracts worth $80 million. The contracts relate to the various units of the project, namely NGL extraction, PyGas hydrogenation, MTBE, polypropylene and polyethylene units.

The contracts award have been awarded after a competent bidding and selection process.

LPP is a steam cracker project, which will process light ends produced in Orpic’s Sohar Refinery and its Aromatics plant as well as improve Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) extracted from presently available natural gas supplies.

The NGL extraction technology will be delivered by Randall Gas Technologies and will be installed at the extraction plant in Fahud. The plant will transmit its products through a 300km pipeline between Fahud and Sohar Industrial Port. OAT consortium bags Mexican gas pipeline contract

Petroleos Mexicanos, Mexican state-owned energy giant has awarded a contract award to construct a division of the Los Ramones natural gas pipeline to the OAT consortium comprised of Brazilian engineering group Odebrecht, Mexican construction company Arendal and Italian-Argentine group Techint.

According to Pemex, the contract was awarded after a strenuous examining to assure the required technical expertise and capacity to modernize the Los Ramones Phase II North project in a time bound and appropriate manner.

Network Rail awards £20 million Paddington station roof renovation project
A Colas Rail/Morgan Sindall joint venture (JV) has been awarded a £20 million project from Network Rail to refurbish the historic roof spans one to three at Paddington station.

The contract award awarded is part of a Multi Asset Framework Agreement (MAFA), which is expected to commence at the end of July, will include steelwork strengthening and repairs to the historic wrought iron structure and decorative scrolls of roof spans one to three.

The lighting system will be modified and the polycarbonate roof lights replaced, while the span is being refurbished.

AMEC receives FEED contract for Sea Lion platform
Premier Oil, operator of the Sea Lion field in the North Falkland Basin, has officially awarded the tension leg platform (TLF) front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract award to oilfield engineering firm AMEC.

The activities on the Sea Lion project continues to advance, as well as the operational stipulation and foundation of the TLP design being decided and the award of the FEED contract, a geotechnical survey will be carried out at the Sea Lion platform during the second half of 2014.
