Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) is empowered to implement ICT development strategies and programmes, in both the government and private sector, including Legal & Policy reforms in Sri Lanka. The agency functions under direct purview of the Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure.

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are increasingly being recognized as essential tools of development. ICTA is now aligning its programmes and projects towards a new vision aiming to accelerate its ICT based development in Sri Lanka. The Telecenter/Nenasala project initiated by Government of Sri Lanka to provide 1CT based services for the people of the country mainly in rural and semi urban areas. The project also mainly focuses to raise the IT literacy of the people. The primary aim of this project has been to empower the rural community through Information and Communication Technology.

ICTA has implemented a variety of training programmes and workshops for Nenasala operators. These programmes aims at ensuring a proper management of Nenasala Centres to run in a sustainable manner extending the services among the community.

Therefore, IOTA requires the services of a consultancy firm to develop and implement a training programme for the operators of the centres on improving essential capacity and skills for a better management, in areas of technical knowledge on computer hardware and local area networking and development of entrepreneurship.

IOTA now invites Expressions of Interest (EoI) from eligible consultants (firms) to express their interest for this assignment. Eol must include the requested information as specified in the respective "Eol Information Form" along with documentary evidence in support of core business and years in business, financial, business and administrative strength/standing, qualifications in the field of the assignment, experience in carrying out assignments of a similar nature and complexity, technical and managerial organization of the firm, technical capabilities and appropriate skills of key staff of the organization, availability of facilities and other relevant information.

Consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Government Guidelines - Selection and Employment of Consultants following Quality and Cost Based Selection. All interested parties are informed that all documents shall be issued in English language.
