Saint Gobain gets $268.7 million contracts in Qatar

Qatar-based Al Jabar Engineering LLC has awarded two contracts award worth $268.7million (€200 million) to the French building materials company Saint Gobain PAM to deliver large diameter pipes, fittings and valves.

Saint Gobain will manufacture the products in France and will be shipped to Qatar, to be utilised on Qatar’s plan to construct five "Security Mega-Reservoirs" throughout the nation to assure it has an emergency backup supply of drinking water capably of lasting at least seven days.

General Dynamics receives $25 million contract for GPS III Satellite Components

Lockheed Martin awarded a $25 million full-production contract award to General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, a business news unit of General Dynamics, to develop components for the U.S. Air Force, Network Communications Element (NCE) on Global Positioning System (GPS) III space vehicles seven and eight (SV 07-08).

FortisBC awards Bechtel $400 million Tilbury LNG expansion project

FortisBC Energy Inc. is collaborating with the Canadian unit of U.S construction company, Bechtel Canada Co. to help extend its Liquefied Natural Gas (LPG) facility in the Lower Mainland.

Cubic Transportation Systems gets £660m Electra contract 

Transport For London (TfL) has awarded £660 million ticketing and fare collection services contract for over 10 years, to technology and specialised services firm Cubic Transportation Systems Ltd.

The continuing collaboration between TfL and Cubic is likely to further enhance London’s ticketing and fare collection other services for clients. The Electra contract award includes the maintenance and availability of ticketing and fare collection equipment on 8,500 buses; 1,900 ticket gates at London Underground and London Overground stations; 1,800 stand-alone validators, consisting the DLR; 1,600 ticket machines; and 250 National Rail stations where card readers are placed. There are also about 4,000 retail devices at Oyster Ticket Stops throughout London. Edaptive Computing bags U.S Air Force $20 million contract

The Air Force has awarded up to a $20 million contract award to a Dayton-based Edaptive Computing Inc. to analyze acquisition, logistics and sustainment at a Wright-Patterson office, according to the Department of Defense.

Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyz Republic have entered into an agreement for a new electricity transmission system to connect all four countries of Central Asia, South Asia called “CASA-1000”, which would help make the most efficient use of clean hydropower resources in the Central Asian countries by enabling them to transfer and sell their electricity surplus during the summer months to the deficient countries in South Asia. U.K. MoD awards Amey JV £2.8 billion estate management contracts

Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), a unit of Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed three contracts worth around £2.8 billion with the public other services provider Amey to manage its estate.

The 'next generation estate' partner programme is aimed to manage and upgrade defence infrastructure. The Oxford-based Amey are part of a joint venture along with Carillion and follow awards for contracts in May offering an overall potential value of £4.5 billion.

Mozambique awards $10 million order to supply election materials

A local and South African companies has been contracted by Mozambique´s National Elections Commission, CNE, to provide voting material for presidential, parliamentary and provincial elections planned for 15 October.

ONCF awards €30 million GSM-R contract

A consortium of Thales, Huawei, and Imet, Italy has been awarded a €30 million contract award by Moroccan National Railways (ONCF) for the first phase of its national GSM-R stationing.

Murray & Roberts bags R2.6 billion Venetia diamond mine contract

Murray & Roberts Cementation has acquired a R2.6 billion (ca US$ 250 million) award at De Beers' Venetia underground mine project. This award is the first of a course of potential contract awards to Murray & Roberts Cementation by De Beers to construct its multi-billion rand underground mine below the functioning open pit diamond mine.

The Venetia deposit comprises of 12 kimberlite pipes. Presently De Beers is mining two of the largest in a single, open pit operation.

The designed investment to change over the open pit into an underground mine is likely to cost some US$2 million. Balfour Beatty gets $136 million US office project

Port of Gulfport awards $47 million contract for West Pier buildings work

Southern Industrial Constructors LLC of Rayville, La., has been awarded $47 million contract award by the state port commission for building construction on the port's West Pier.

A second West Pier construction project, with an approximated value of $50 million to $70 million, will be published for bids soon.

Approved on Friday, Southern Industrial was the second-lowest bidder. SRI International receives $49 million contact to study new therapies for HIV and AIDS

DEWA announces $17.7 million water reliability project
