Los
Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) has
sealed a contract award with a Skanska and Traylor Brothers, Inc. joint
venture for the construction of the Regional Connector in down town Los
Angeles, as well as awarded a design contract for as Metrolink double
track project.
The $918 million-contract for the
Regional Connector project comprises of the design and construction of a
1.86-mile (3-kilometer) double track light-rail transit subway in
downtown Los Angeles with three new stations. Construction work will
commence immediately and is likely to be accomplished in October 2020.
Skanska USA Civil will engage its $574 million share in its
second-quarter bookings, as per the company officials.
To finalize the design of a double track
project from Raymer to Bernson along the Ventura County Line of
Metrolink, a $6.5-million contract was awarded to J.L. Patterson &
Associates, Inc. (JLP).
The Raymer to Bernson Double Track
Project is based on the LACMTA-held right-of-way along the Ventura
subdivision and it is part of the Los Angeles – San Diego – San Luis
