Expression of Interest for Detail Design Consulting (DDC) Services for Melamchi Water Supply Project Phase II

The Government of Nepal (GON) has applied for a loan from Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Improvement Project, KVWSlP-AF (Loan 3255-NEP). The proposed Melamchi Water Supply Project (under Additional Financing)(the Project) will support the ongoing efforts of the Government of Nepal (the Government) towards improving the water supply service by improvement of water quality in Kathmandu Valley. The project will invest in Detail Design Consulting Services (DDCS) for Melamchi Phase 2. Tendersontime, a leading business information provider is the first agency to report this notification.
The primary objective of the Melamchi Water Supply Project Phase II is to augment the capacity of the ongoing 170 mld capacity water supply system of the Melamchi Phase I Project to a 510 mld capacity water supply system to alleviate the chronic shortage of potable water in Kathmandu Valley on a sustainable and long-term basis, and thereby improve the health and well-being of inhabitants.
The project is designed to bring 510 MLD of water through tunnel from the Melamchi valley to Kathmandu Valley to Water Treatment Plant at Sundarijal. which after treatment will feed into the improved distribution network under various ongoing projects funded by the ADB.
The Executive Director on behalf of MWSDB invites Expression of Interest from eligible international and domestic firms in the form of a joint venture or in association having appropriate management, technical, and geographical competence.
The firm(s) must include in their EOI proposal, details of the Key Personnel to be involved in the project; list of similar projects executed by the firm(s) in past ten years with summary of such projects and important financial details. The EOI is required to be submitted in the standard formats stipulated for this purpose. The EOI (One copy in originals and Six in copies along with a Soft Copy) should be delivered to the following address no later than 16:00 hrs (Local time) on or before 21 February 2016.
