The
Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has
received a Loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
towards the cost of the Landslide Disaster Protection Project of the

Committee (SCAPC) on behalf of the Road Development Authority intends to
prequalify contractors and/or firms for; a) Package-01 :
Countermeasures at Ten Locations in Central. Uva and Sabaragamuwa
Provinces for Road Disaster Management. (Contract No:
RDA/JICA/LDPP/ICB/P-01)- Works involve countermeasures against
Landslides, Slope Failures and Rock Falls along the Roads at A005-043
Kotmalegama-l, A005-044 Kotmalegama-Z, A005-046 Ramboda, A005-063 Top
Pass, A005-O91 Keppettipola, A007-031 Theligama, A007-045 Pitawala,
A007-054 Ginigathena,A007-057 Diyagala and A1 1 A113-015 Nawalapitiya
sites located within the districts of NuwaraEliya, Badulla,Kandy and
Kegalle. Countermeasures provide for the construction of Surface
Drainage, Horizontal Underground Drainage, Gabion Walls, Drainage Wells,
Ground Anchors, Rope nets and Anti-Rockfall Nets, Crib work, Rock
fence, Rock Bolts, Light Weight Embankment, Counterweight Embankment
with Grassing, Lightweight Embankment, Rehabilitation of Existing Roads,
Improving Drainage facilities and Provision of aTechnology Transfer
Scheme., b) Package - 02 : Countermeasures at Six Locations in
Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces for Road Disaster Management. (Contract
No: RDA/JICA/LDPP/ICB/P-02)
Works involve countermeasures against Landslides,
Slope Failures and Rock Falls along the Roads at A004-154 lmbulpe,
A004-173 Pusella, A004-174 Walhaputennna, A005-135 2nd Mile Post,
A005-167 Lunugala and A016-010 Kahagalla sites located within the
districts of NuwaraEliya, Badulla and Kandy. Countermeasures provide for
the construction of Surface Drainage, Gabion Walls, Horizontal
Underground Drainage, Ground Anchors, Drainage Wells, Crib work, Rock
Bolts, Retaining Walls, Counterweight Embankment. Lightweight
Embankment. Earth Removal, Rehabilitation of Existing Roads, Improving
Drainage facilities, and Provision of aTechnology Transfer Scheme.
It is expected that the Invitation for Bids will be made in May 2016.
A pre-Application meeting will take place on 11‘“ of
February 2016 at10:30 hrs at the the office of the Project Director,
Project Management Unit, Landslide Disaster Protection Project of the National Road Network, Road Development Authority, No. 340 Gangoda Road, Embilmeegama, Pilimathalawa, Sri Lanka.
The deadline for Application submission is on 11" of March 2016 until 14:00 hrs. and will be opened immediately thereafter.
