O’Horo Co an industrial and commercial general contractor receives a
contract award to construct a one-million-gallon tank in Mahoningtown.
The company was the lowest of five bidders, submitted a bid of bid of
$1,884,000 for the flow equalization tank by the sewage treatment plant.
According to Richard Christofer,
authority executive director, the construction is likely to commence
around July 1 with most part of the work to be done by the end of this
year, the bid value is estimated around $2 million.
The authority is subjected to provide
primary and secondary treatment to everything flowing through the plant,
as per the consent order passed by the Pennsylvania Department of
Environmental Protection.
No secondary treatment has to be
rendered for all sewage before the consent order. Only flows over
limiting 18 million gallons per day were allowed to bypass secondary
treatment.
The periodical over flow above the 18
million gallon is due to the infiltration of storm water into the
sanitary lines. To overcome this issue the new tank will accumulate the
excess water, which will further be treated under the primary and
secondary treatment.
Half the cost of the project is incurred by the authority and the remaining by a state H20 grant.Read complete story at http://www.tendersontime.com/blog-detail/youngstown-firm-gets-tank-construction-contract-22.php
