The
civil engineering company Breheny has been contract awarded a £1m contract by
RWE and SSE’s 340MW Galloper offshore wind farm, to execute the onshore
works.
The onshore substation at Sizewell in
the east of Britain will get the preparatory ground works done as the
part of the contract. Temporary compound areas, infrastructure for
water, electricity and telecommunications will also be established by
Breheny by early 2015.
These facilitation works will be the
basis to the construction of the Galloper substation. This is a big
milestone for the project and follows the multi-million pound contract
awarded to ABP Port of Lowestoft earlier this year, local businesses
should take advantage of the opportunities provided by Galloper, says
Bart Oberink, project director at Galloper.
Breheny’s experience and skills in wind
farm preparation works has grown remarkably in past years and it’s now
an influential area of business for us, it’s a proud feeling to have
been appointed by Galloper, says Trevor Stiff, managing director –
Breheny.Read complete story at http://www.tendersontime.com/blog-detail/breheny-getsshore-contract-17.php
