The
first contract award for construction works on the 3km new metro line between
Østersøgade and the new Nordhavn metro station has been awarded to a
consortium of Züblin and Hochtief. The contract includes the
construction works of the 2km underground portion of the branch, which
will run in twin TBM tunnels, and the construction and fitting out of
the station at Nordhavn.
The contract has a total value of €150m.
The design of the project will start immediately: while the first
construction works will be commenced in late 2014. The final completed
handover to metro owner Metroselskabet will be in 2019.
The installation of railway equipment on
the extension will be undertaken by Ansaldo STS says Metroselskabet.
