Veolia
has been contract awarded by Hunter Water Corporation a contract to operate and
maintain 25 of its water production and wastewater treatment plants in
the Hunter region - New South Wales, Australia. This €193 million
(AUD279 million) contract, which comes after a global tender process, is
the largest ever awarded by Hunter Water and marks the first time
operation and maintenance of its plants has been taken to tender.
Veolia will operate and maintain the
plants which provides potable water and wastewater treatment services to
over half a million individuals throughout six local government regions
in New South Wales, under the period of eight year contract. The
worldwide and unparalleled skills of Veolia in water operations will
allow for the application of best-practice technologies, at the same
time its also helping to relax cost pressures for local families and
