National Express retains Essex rail contract
The British government has awarded National Express a fifteen year contract award to carry on rail other services in the south eastern part of England.

As per the contact details, National Express will carry on to operate the Essex Thameside contract, run under the name c2c, until 2029 and pay around £1.5bn to the Government over the life of the 15-year franchise. The group has committed to £160m of improvements for passengers, including 17 new trains to give almost 4,800 extra seats.
